Our client is seeking a Mechanically biased Maintenance Technician. Working on a 3 shift basis, your responsibilities will be to ensure equipment is available in line with production schedules.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Daily maintenance of equipment including fault diagnosis
• Ensure tool maintenance and undertake tool changes
• Carry out process adjustments, tool cleaning and blade sharpening
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance activities
• Undertake Statistical Process Control activities
• Modify jigs to ensure correct dimensions of parts against drawings
• Setting and changeovers of cutting machines and moulding presses in line with daily production targets.
• Setting and maintenance of clipping, springing machines and rectification of cutting machines.
• Die cleaning and die building to ensure correct manufacture of parts.
• Ensuring parts flow through the curing ovens in line with standard operating procedures.
• Identify faults with equipment in order to modify/rectify in a timely manner.
• Collect inserts and material to ensure timely supply.
• General machine and process trouble shooting.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be educated to HNC/D Level, in an appropriate mechanically biased discipline, or be time served.
It will beneficial, but not essential to possess experience gained in a rubber or plastics environment.
Automotive experience would be advantageous, as would some Tool Room experience related to dies, and basic electrical / PLC / Omron knowledge.
You will be expected to take a pro active and dynamic approach, and must possess good communication, organisational, and problem solving skills.
