Our client is seeking a Mechanically biased Engineer to work in their Process Development Dept, with an emphasis on the operational and technical integration of equipment and processes into the Production environment. You will work closely with Maintenance operational activities to match Manufacturing volume requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Investigate process defects, propose and implement effective solutions
• Development of engineering based solutions for major breakdowns
• To facilitate and act upon departmental plans
• Identification of improvements to manufacturing process
• Supporting Manufacturing and Maintenance in resolving OPR related issues
• Execute engineering and process changes to enable cost reductions
• Investigate process defects, propose and implement effective solutions
• Design process controls.
• Monitor equipment utilisation to achieve maximum performance
• Conduct and report on PPAP trials
• Equipment calibration and preventative maintenance
• Budgetary control for tools and maintenance
• Continues improvement projects
• Manage and develop a team of Cell Technician and Electricians
• Health & Safety responsibility for equipment and team
The Ideal Candidate
You will be educated to degree or HNC/D Level, in an appropriate mechanically biased discipline, or be time served with extensive process engineering experience gained in a rubber or plastics environment.
Automotive experience and six sigma Black belt or Green training would be advantageous, as would some electrical / PLC knowledge (Omron) but is not essential.
You will be expected to take a pro active and dynamic approach, and must possess good communication, organisational, and problem solving skills.
