An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager with a healthcare / palliative care background, to join one of the largest not-for-profit charities in the UK. Working as part of a national collaborative programme set up to improve palliative care and support, the Project Manager would be working closely with the NHS, social services and other providers from the voluntary sector.
The role of the Senior Project Manager will be to support the programme manager ensuring that all parts of the project are developed to a high standard and delivered within agreed timescales. The Project Manager will ensure that any information gained is utilised fully to ensure adaptation of solutions by the NHS throughout the UK.
Main Duties will include:
Working closely with and supporting the Project Managers with the delivery of the project and monitoring the progress throughout
Helping and supervising Phase 1 of the projects focusing on understanding the current state of services by using different methodologies
Supporting the Project Managers with analysis of large data sets
Guiding and supporting the Project Managers in costing new interventions and in monitoring project expenditure
Monitoring of project expenditure and controlling budgets
Establishing and maintaining effective networks with professional contact and partners
Being responsible for regular project updates via the website
Attending local Project Board meetings
Preparation of reports on progress and finance for the individual projects
Ensuring the delivery of the project within the agreed timeframe and within the project target and objectives
The Project Manager will need to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, have a sound knowledge of project management with the ability to influence change without direct management, knowledge of health and social care provision in the community, the ability to deliver project work to agreed timescales and sound knowledge of Microsoft Project software. Experience working within a healthcare environment is essential as is the ability to demonstrate degree level outcomes and formal project management methodologies.
In return, the Senior Project Manager will receive:
A salary of 39,504 per year
35 hour working week
