    We are currently looking to recruit a Head Chef to run the kitchen in our new property currently being taken over in Cumbria.

    We currently operate two distinctive properties in the North of England, and with acquisition and more planned within the next few months, this is a very exciting time to be joining this group.

    Based in Sedbergh, the property offers 15 bedrooms, a 45 cover Restaurant and comfortable bars. There is also extensive external seating further enhancing the guest experience. We will be carrying out re-development work to the building and one of the immediate tasks for the Head Chef will be to implement and establish a new kitchen operation and brigade. We are aiming to offer fresh local produce across well defined Restaurant and Bar menus.

    Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Head Chef will be responsible for all areas of the food operation including stock control/GP, hygiene and food safety, development and training, ordering and maintaining a consistent standard of food. As a company passionate about good food, you will be offered the full support of the Management team of this group in all areas.

    Menu development is an essential part of our business planning and it will be the role of the Head Chef to use local and seasonal ingredients to produce well structured and well balanced seasonal menus

    Of course, the most important part of the role is your knowledge of food and food preparation. We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and can deliver this onto the plate. Well versed in all areas of the kitchen, you will have a proven track record as a Head Chef in a similar sized kitchen or a Sous Chef looking for their first position as a Head Chef. You will have demonstrated experience of working with fresh ingredients and of working closely with suppliers to maintain quality. Finally you will be able to manage GPs and to inspire your team to also deliver these GPs.
