Salary up to £55,000 + Final Salary Pension + Other Benefits
Purpose:
Responsible for Client’s asset management plan, the technical specification and the key performance targets for a nine year rail transport supply contract for specific asset groups. To Project Manage on the development and delivery of all out of scope, and other major projects as delegated
Key Result Areas
Rail Transportation Reinvigoration
• Asset condition and investment planning
• Asset compliance with statutory regulations
• Ensure assets have residual life commensurate with the asset plan.
• Establish a comprehensive asset register of all relevant assets
• Prepare technical standards for maintenance and renewal of all relevant assets
• Develop and maintain a rolling 20 year asset renewal plan for all relevant assets
• Lead preparation of the technical specification in specific asset groups for the MSP.
• For specific asset groups undertake the technical evaluation of tenders
• Administer the Client’s supply contract as necessary including but not limited to:
o Verify asset is maintained in accordance with supply contract
o Negotiate and Agree annual adjustments to maintenance and renewal plan
o Manage MSP performance to protect and meet Client requirements
o Sign – off completed renewals work
• Responsible for the undertaking of all routine inspections and formal audits of the MSP
• Determine the level of payments to be made on a periodic basis to the MSP
• Establish maintenance Standards
• Technical specification for relevant disciplines of the Reinvigoration project
• Establishment of a comprehensive asset register
• Quantify asset condition and determine investment plan requirements
• Elimination of the current maintenance backlog
• Prioritisation of maintenance and renewal activities
• Good relations with the MSP
• Delivery of projects to time and to budget
Skills, Know How and Experience
Essential
• At least five years in a senior commercial position in a relevant business environment
• Degree or equivalent
• Chartered Engineer
• Capable of strategic thinking
• Capable of leading a motivated team including external advisers & consultants
• Flexible commitment to workload, location and hours
• Team player
• Good interpersonal skills

• Previous experience in a project related environment
