Our client is looking to appoint a Proposals Engineer to join their team.
Working within the Strategic Projects Proposals Group, accountable to the Strategic Projects Proposals Manager, the job holder will work with a multi-disciplined Proposal team to produce professional, creative proposals for Strategic Projects. The role encompasses all activities associated with the securing of new projects to be executed by the company
ROLE
Review received tenders both technically and commercially; analyse customer provided data and develop technical solutions that exceed client expectations whilst enhancing Company chances of securing an order
Conduct bid / no-bid and risk analyses and qualifying each opportunity before proceeding
Development of bid strategy and subsequent implementation
Quantify and compare alternative solutions that can be presented as part of our submission to the client
Understand what the competition will offer to meet the same client requirements, and how they will meet these requirements
Ensure that proposals are completed on time
Maintain thorough records through the tendering process to ensure proper and efficient handover to project teams on contract award.
Provide technical support and follow up of proposals
Attend bid clarification and project meetings where required
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Qualified to Degree level in an Electrical Engineering or equivalent Discipline
Minimum of 2 years in a proposals/tendering role or 5 years previous experience in an electrical site or estimating role
Experience in power distribution, petrochemical or process environments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a proven team player.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Previous experience of preparing the commercial bid analysis, working closely with engineering departments in the completion of the bid analysis summary.
Second language capability is desirable
