Job Title:Training Adviser (Lab technician assessor)
Location: To be agreed
Responsible to: Regional Manager
Purpose of Job
1.To monitor, assess, review learners to achieve qualifications and meet contracted targets.
2.To effectively contribute to the recruitment of learners and client companies to participate in Work Based Learning Programmes / Commercial courses
Key Tasks
"Maintain a minimum caseload of LSC funded learners to enable them to achieve NVQ qualifications and frameworks by:
Thorough induction and initial assessment
Providing coaching, guidance and support to the learner, work place supervisor and employer as required
Monitoring learners practical training with employers
Monitoring learners progress in other components (e.g. technical certificates and any sub contracted delivery)
Assessing learners competence within NVQ qualification
Delivering and assessing underpinning knowledge
Delivering and assessing Key Skills / technical qualifications
Actively encourage feedback from learners and employers throughout the programme
"Devise and develop course material in accordance with learner and lead body requirements
"Ensure effective classroom management of learners e.g. regular attendance by learners; order and discipline maintained during tutor led sessions
"Ensure that all documentation is accurately completed and submitted within agreed timescales (fulfilling all contractual and statutory obligations)
"Work closely within team to ensure business growth, delivery of contracts and achievement of agreed targets
"Market & promote NECC services / organisation (geographically and by sector) via Connexions, Schools, Colleges to identify potential learners and employers
"Develop & maintain communication with internal and external customers
"Undertake any self development identified during performance review and own continuous professional development
"Adhere to all NECC policies and procedures

Performance against Training's Key Performance Indicator's
Maximum occupancy on training programmes
Learner retention as per contractual requirements
Achievement and progression rates as per contractual requirements
Accurate and Timely completion of paper work (e.g. Learner Contact Reports, Reviews, Questionnaires, and LSC documentation)
Minimum level of unfunded learners

Qualifications
"NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant occupational area (desirable)
"Key Skills (desirable)
"Specific occupationally relevant technical certificate (Lab Technician)
"A1 qualification
Experience
"Practical occupational experience as required by Code of Practice and relevant awarding bodies
"Proven track record of consistently achieving performance targets
"Proven track record of imparting skills and learning to others
"Knowledge of monitoring sub contracted provision (desirable)
