JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to: Membership Supervisor Regional Sales Manager Job Purpose • To increase the revenue of the business through the sale of membership to prospective members. • To deal with existing members membership queries and administration. • To provide cover and support for the Membership Supervisor. • To gain awareness of the facilities to assist with the sale of memberships and to generate leads. Person Specification The position of Membership Consultant at Total Fitness is a critical one to the existence of the business. The Membership Consultant has the responsibility of dealing with prospective and existing members on a daily basis to ensure the continuing growth of the membership at each Club. A Membership Consultant must make themselves aware of all the day-to-day issues that relate to the smooth operation of the Club to enable them to provide prospective and existing members with the correct information about the Club and details of any promotions that are running. The ideal candidate must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and a high level of enthusiasm and commitment. They will be dynamic, adaptable and able to communicate effectively at all levels. A sales background is desirable. Duties and Responsibilities • To conduct sales tours of the facilities and give guidance to prospective customers on the type of membership category best suited to their needs and requests as directed by the Company standard. • To ensure all prospective members receive the appropriate information and tour of the facilities. • To be responsible for the administration of membership paperwork and to ensure that it is processed accordingly. • To be responsible for recording daily sales and to be familiar with the total membership sales for the club. • In conjunction with the Membership Supervisor be responsible for the management of the ACT database. • To be fully aware of promotional activities and sales targets. • To achieve on a weekly basis standards and target, as set down by the company with regard to the following Key Performance Indicators: Tour to sale, Calls to appointment, number of referrals per new adult member and number of telephone calls made. • To attend weekly sales meetings to provide relevant information pertaining to membership sales. • To be accountable for all cash handling, reporting any mistakes or shortfalls immediately. • To carry out competitor analysis on a regular basis, in order to provide information which can be used positively when selling the club. • To generate new business by visiting corporate sites and doing outreach. • To attend the necessary training courses as provided by the Company to keep up to date with changes to computer packages used by the sales team and to continue to develop existing sales techniques. • To be available to cover at other Clubs and work extra hours when and where necessary. • To ensure all company standards of operating and personal performance are implemented and completed. • To maintain regular and effective communication with both the Membership supervisor and Regional Sales Manager. • To comply with all statutory company legislation. • To carry out any other reasonable task as deemed necessary by the Club Manager, Membership Supervisor, Regional Sales Manager. |
