Job Description

Electronic Engineer Power Conversion products Contract 6 - 12 months. Start date April 2010 Gateshead, Tyne & Wear Rate negotable

This is for a market leader in controllers and accessories for battery powered vehicles. They are looking to strengthen their R&D team based at Gateshead in North East England.

The role: Design and development of switching power supplies, battery chargers, dc/dc converters and motor controllers. Product design from concept to pre-production Detailed circuit and component level design Supervise technicians Design documentation Work to company quality standards Must have experience and skills in all of these areas below. Must have detailed circuit design detail experience, systems level is not sufficient. Minimum 3 years directly relevant experience in a professional role as either a full time employee or contractor:- Design and development of off line mains voltage switching power supplies at power level of 100W or more. Design and test of switching power supplies to EMC standards Thermal design of electronic equipment related at more than 100W Familiar with requirements of UL and CE marking.

Desirable experience and skills: Design and development of power factor correction (PFC) circuits for off line mains voltage switching power supplies Design and development of AC motor controllers Microprocessor control

Rates negotaible. Hours are minumim 30 hrs to a max of 48 hrs with expected duration to be up to 12 months.
